This week we will study the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In language arts, we will learn about the letter I and the “unofficial” sight words that we use in our morning message – dear, class and love. In math, we will review our coins, non-standard measuring and patterns.
At home, please continue to work with your child on their birth dates, addresses, phone numbers, sight words, counting by ones, fives and tens to 100 and tying shoes.

This week we will continue learning about winter by studying hibernation and arctic animals. In math we will learn about measurement tools – the ruler, the clock, the calendar, the thermometer and the balance scale. On Friday, your child can bring in a small item to be weighed in the balance scale. In language arts, we will look at the letter E, the word family –ig and the sight words have, no and play. PALS testing starts this week as well.
Please continue to review sight words and counting to 100 by ones, fives and tens. While you are out and about review money at the grocery store or colors of cars while you are driving. When you and your child get the mail, review your street address. There are lots of ways to review.
