For the last day of March and the first days of April we will learn about the blend br-, the sight words did and look, and the -en word family in Language Arts. We are practicing writing on the line and spacing out our words. In Math, we will concentrate on the numbers 10-20 (more, fewer, same and building with Base 10 and the 10 Frame). We will continue studying maps in Unit and finish on Friday by presenting our Map Project to the class.
Please continue to work with your child on these skills. Please read every night and practice counting to 100 by 1s, 5s and 10s.
Please remember that the Map Project is due on Friday April 4th!

This week in Language Arts, we will concentrate on the Bl blend, the -et word family and the sight words find and he. In Math, we will focus on counting, writing and building numbers 10-20. We will study maps during Unit time – compass rose, map legend, globe vs paper map, county, state and US maps. Be on the look out for a homework assignment about a map project.

This week we will continue learning about Community Helpers such as the police officer, the fire fighter, the dentist and the mail carrier. In Language Arts, we will focus on the wh digraph, the sight words she and funny and the -od family. In Math, we will practice counting 1-100 (finding the missing numbers on the chart, finding the patterns, writing the numbers, etc).
