Week of May 5th

Exciting things are happening! Sacra Store opened. The children earn plastic money to spend at the Sacra Store. (The store takes the place of Treasure Box.) The store works in conjunction with our math lesson – counting coins up to 10 cents. Every day that your child stays on green, they earn a penny. If your child is on green for the entire week, they will earn an extra nickel! Sometimes they will earn a penny for doing a great job at a work station or walking in the hallway.

In Language Arts, we are learning about the gr– blend, the sight words big and little and the -ut word family. We are reading more difficult books at reading stations, so keep practicing at home.

In Unit, we are learning about Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day and plants.

Don’t forget! Our field trip is on Wednesday, May 7th. Please make sure your child has a packed lunch and is wearing comfortable clothes.
