Week of December 15th

We have a short week, but it is packed with excitement! In Language Arts, we will learn about the letter I, the –ig word family and extra sight words dear, class and love (words we use every day in the Morning Message). In Math, we will review our lessons from the 2nd 9 weeks. In Unit, we will be learning about the importance of needs and wants.

We will be Benchmark testing on Tuesday and Wednesday and it is important that your child is in school those days. Please make sure your child has a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast.

Please remember to send in your items for the Gingerbread House Party on or before Wednesday, December 17th. Thank you to all who have donated.

Week of December 8th

We are excited about all of the holiday things we are doing in our class this month. On December 17th, we will have our Gingerbread House Party. On the 18th we will have Book Buddy Day and a school-wide sing-along.

This week we are learning about the letter E, the sight words have, no and play, and the -ill word family. In Math, we are learning about measurement tools – the clock, the calendar, the thermometer and the scale. In Unit, we will start our study of winter/hibernation.

Please note that Kindergarten Benchmark testing is Tuesday, December 16th and Wednesday December 17th. It is very important that your child is in school on those testing days.

Keep reading and practicing those sight words and skip counting.

Have a great weekend!
