Happy February! This week we will be learning about the Ch digraph, the sight words down and on and the –on word family. In Math, we will start counting and writing to 100. In the afternoons, we will start our Unit on Famous Americans and National Symbols. We will learn about Betsy Ross, the American Flag, President Obama, the Liberty Bell, Rosa Parks and the Statue of Liberty.
Interims will come home on February 5th. There is still time if anyone would like to sign up for a conference.
Please continue to read at home and practice those sight words (I check them every Wednesday).
Don’t forget that homework is due on Friday. This is an important way for your child to extend what they have learned in school to their home.
Enjoy the Super Bowl and hopefully Phil will predict an early Spring!
It’s hard to believe that January is almost over! This week we will start learning about the Th sound and the sight words come and with. In math, we will continue with analog and digital time. In unit, we will start learning about shadows and Groundhog Day.
-Completed homework is due on Fridays or it will be considered Incomplete (unless your child is absent).
-Send in a daily snack with your child.
-Read and practice sight words every night
-February 16th will be a regular school day

In Math, we will start learning about telling time to the hour and the difference between analog and digital clocks. In Unit, we will start learning about Martin Luther King, Jr.

This week we will be learning about the letter U, the sight words said, you & do, and the -ot word family. In Math, we will continue to collect data and use graphs and tally marks. Pretzel sticks are a great way to practice tally marks at home. In Unit, we will continue to learn about our Community Helpers.
This week we will start PALS testing. Please make sure your child has a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast.
