Week of March 2nd

 

This week in Language Arts, we will learn about the br- blend, the –en word family and the sight words did and look. In Math, we will continue counting, building and comparing numbers 10-20. In Unit, we will start learning about maps. The map project will be due on Friday, March 6th. We will present our maps to the class.

Happy Presidents’ Day!

This week we will be learning about the Bl blend, the -et family and the sight words he and find. In math we will build and write to 20. In unit we will learn about George Washington.

On Friday, along with pajama day we will have a Read-A-Thon for the last 30 minutes of class so bring in a towel or blanket to lay on, a bag of books and a snack.

Remember that Monday, Feb 16th is a regular school day.

Be on the look-out for a Map project to come home next week that will be due on Friday, Feb 27th.

Week of February 9th

Happy Valentine’s Day! This week we will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 13th. A list of student names came home on Thursday February 5th. This is voluntary. We will also have special snacks. Please feel free to send in any treats or snacks.

In Language Arts, we will learn about Wh-, the sight words she and funny and the -od word family. We will learn about ordinal numbers during math time. We will continue learning about such famous Americans as Abraham Lincoln and George Washington Carver in Unit.

Please continue to read and count nightly and practice those 55 sight words.

I look forward to meeting the parents who signed up for conferences on Monday and Wednesday.
