Week of May 18th

Only 2 days left! I cannot believe it! We have had a wonderful year of growing and learning. I know your children will do an excellent job in 1st grade.

On Monday, we will have Kindergarten Beach day (for the children only).

On Tuesday, the Kindergarten Honors Assembly will be at 2:45. Every child will get an award. Hope to see you there!

Week of May 11th

We are in the home stretch! Only a week and two days left, but we have so much to do! This week in Language Arts, we are learning about “Magic e”, those CVCe words. In Math, we are reviewing what we have learned during the past 8 weeks. In Unit, we will start learning about frogs and their life cycle.

Benchmark tests are Monday- Thursday, May 11-14. Please make sure your child is present and on time.

The Kindergarten Show is May 12th. Children need to be in the classroom by 6:15 and wearing jeans and a yellow shirt or their Grizzly shirt.

Kindergarten Beach Day is Monday, May 18th (for kids only) from 9:30-12. If you would like to volunteer to help with Pirate’s Cove (putting little toys and treats out for the children to find and monitoring the playground), please let me know.

Week of May 4th

This week, in Language Arts, we will be learning about the st- blend, the –ay family and the sight words who & was. We will continue learning about fractions in Math. In Unit, we will continue learning about Butterflies. The Bug Project is due on Friday.

***Special events

May 12th – Kindergarten Program. The children need to be in the classroom by 6:15

May 18th – Kindergarten Beach Day (for the children only)

May 19th – Kindergarten Honor’s Assembly at 2:45.

Please continue working on sight words, adding, subtracting, fractions (halves and fourths), coins, tally marks, time to the hour because we are in our push to the end of Kindergarten.
