Week of January 30th

This week in Language Arts, we will learn about the /ch/ digraph, the     -on family, and the sight words on and down. In Math, we will practice counting to 100 by 1s, 5s and 10s. We will study shadows and Groundhog’s Day during Unit.

Please count with your child, practice coins and tally marks.

Interims will come home on Thursday, February 2nd. Parent/Teachers conferences are Thursday February 16th.

Week of Jan. 23rd

This week in Language Arts we will learn about the /th/ digraph, the -op and -ock families, and the sight words come and with. We will continue our study of tally marks and graphing in Math. In Unit, we will learn about George Washington.

On Wednesday, we will celebrate the 100th day of school. Your child may dress as if they are 100 years old.

Please make sure your child completes all of their homework.

Please make sure your child has a snack every day.

Week of January 16th

This week in Language Arts we will learn about the /sh/ digraph, the    -og family, and the sight words up and away. In Math, we will start learning more about tally marks and gathering data. We will celebrate the life and achievements of Martin Luther King, Jr. during Unit.

Monday is a student holiday.

We will continue our PALS testing since the snow pushed us back a few days.

Week of January 9th

This week we will learn about the letter U, the sight words where and not, and the -ot family. We will continue our study of coins during Math. In Unit, we will talk about hibernation.

****Important****

*This week is PALS testing, please make sure your child is here on time and is well rested.

*On Friday, January 13th, we will have our hibernation read-a-thon. For 30 minutes, the children may bring a towel and a bag of books and we will read, read.

*Homework starts up again on Monday.
